Quality Initiatives

Colorado’s Early Childhood Council helps child care programs access funds to enhance and sustain quality services for children and families. By connecting with the Council and applying for funds, the following resources become available to programs. Please note – availability of funds depends on a variety of factors, have certain open application periods during the year, and includes Colorado Shines Quality Improvement Support.

colorado-shinesColorado Shines Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS) is Colorado’s method to assess, enhance and communicate the level of quality in early education and care for all licensed providers. This system provides standardized criteria for all child care providers in Colorado to be rated for quality, and provides incentives and support to providers who wish to raise the level of quality care available at their facility.
