The Douglas County Early Childhood Council
The Douglas County Early Childhood Council (DCECC) is dedicated to helping parents and child care providers learn about programs and services for young children, birth to age 8. A child’s early learning experiences help shape the ways they grow and thrive as they move through their youngest years, school-age and into adulthood. DCECC offers resources and supports to help parents make the most of these early years so that their children adapt well and succeed in life.
The Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines describe the path of children’s learning and development from birth to age 8. They’re designed so that everyone who cares for young children can play an important part in giving Colorado’s kids a healthy start. The Office of Early Childhood developed tools to help parents and caregivers, early childhood professionals, and child advocates access and use the Guidelines. > Click Here
